LomLoms PureShoesCompany was founded in Laax Graubünden, Switzerland in 2008 with the purpose of reviving the ancient tradition of wearing felt boots in order to be protected by the icy coldness during winters. The name Lom derives from the Romansh language and means soft/comfortable. Hundreds of years ago, Eskimos bound the first felt cloths under their feet and together with the snow it formed a powerful protective bolster. This idea was developed further in Siberia, where the first felt boots were designed and are still worn today. Designer Michael Krause found the perfect balance between form, appearance and functionality and created this extraordinary boot. Each pair is handcrafted and requires an intensive process, so that only few quantities are brought into the market, making LomLoms truly unique!
